Data Sources
FDE Radar aggregates data from public, verifiable sources. We do not scrape login-protected pages, bypass CAPTCHAs, or use unverifiable anonymous data.

FDE Classification
Each role is scored using versioned, deterministic rules. No AI models are used in classification.
Tier 1: Exact FDE
Title explicitly contains "Forward Deployed Engineer" or close variants.
Tier 2: FDE-Adjacent
Solutions Engineer, Field Engineer, Customer Engineer, Deployment Strategist, and similar customer-facing technical roles.
Tier 3: Potentially Related
Roles with multiple FDE characteristics (customer-facing, production systems, API/data work) but without a clear FDE title.
Borderline cases are flagged for human review. Classification rules are versioned and changes are logged.
Compensation Data
We only show salary ranges explicitly published in job postings. We do not use anonymous reports, third-party estimates, or predictive models.
Grade A: Salary range directly stated in the job posting.
Grade B: US government public wage data (reference only).
Grade C: Similar role/region wages (background context only).
- Original currency is preserved — we do not convert.
- Pay period is preserved (hour / month / year).
- Base salary, OTE, and total compensation are distinguished.
- Sample sizes are always shown.
- Published ranges cannot be interpreted as final offer amounts.
Data Freshness
FDE Radar data is updated daily via an automated pipeline. Each role shows its "Last Verified" timestamp. Roles that disappear from their source for three consecutive checks are marked as closed.
Corrections & Removals
If you believe data is inaccurate or would like a listing removed, contact us at corrections@fdeinstinct.com. We review all requests within 48 hours.
